Magnolia Bark Extract Introduction

Magnolia bark extract is a product extracted from the dry root bark, stem bark or branch bark of the plant Magnolia officinalis. The main components are phenol, volatile oil, alkaloids, etc. It has the functions of smoothing the respiratory system. The active ingredients Honokiol, Magnolol, and Biphenol in Magnolia Bark Extract have special, long-lasting muscle relaxation effects and strong antibacterial effects, which can inhibit platelet aggregation. Clinically, it is mainly used as an antibacterial and antifungal drug.

Scientists have discovered that the honokiol in magnolia bark extract has the effect of phytoestrogens and may affect the function of hormones in the same way as estrogen. Another compound called magnolol in magnolia bark is classified as lignans, which is a plant-based nutrient rich in soluble and insoluble fiber, which not only helps digestion, but also improves heart blood vessel health.
