Perennial evergreen herb of rhizoma coptidis of ranunculaceae. Also known as Sichuan even, even, chicken claw coptis. Rhizome is used as medicine. Because of its root such as conjoined beads and yellow, hence the name. Mainly produced in Sichuan, Hubei, Shaanxi and other provinces of China.
