It is a good extraction method for oily ingredients, by using carbon dioxide gas which is changed into gas-liquid state under high pressure at a constant temperature. Plants powder are placed in a stainless steel tank and, as carbon dioxide is injected into the tank, pressure inside the tank builds. Under high pressure, the carbon dioxide turns into a liquid and acts as a solvent to extract the oils from the plants. When the pressure is decreased, the carbon dioxide returns to a gaseous state, leaving no organic solvent residue but some CO2 in the oil, it helps protect the oil from oxidation. 

Oils produced by SCF-CO2 have fresher, cleaner, and crisper aromas than steam-distilled essential oils, and they smell more similar to the living plants because CO2 and low temperature.


Description:
Carrot seed oil is the essential oil extract of the seed from the carrot plant Daucus carota. The oil has a woody, earthy sweet smell and is yellow or  amber-coloured to pale orange-brown in appearance. Carrot is an annual or biennial herb with hairy leaves and umbels of white lacy flowers with purple centers. Kingherbs' carrot seed oil is extracted by Supercritical Carbon Dioxide Fluid. It is a new method of extraction using carbon dioxide gas which is kept under high pressure at a constant temperature. It have fresher, cleaner, and crisper aromas than  steam-distilled essential oils, and they smell more similar to the living plants because high heat is not used.
