Irvingia gabonensis is a species of African trees in the genus Irvingia, sometimes known by the common names wild mango, African mango, bush mango, dika or ogbono.
The Irvingia Gabonensis Extract has become popular recently due to its effectiveness as a weight loss supplement. Its reported properties include appetite suppression, increased metabolism and increased energy.
Official research performed on pure African mango extract in a weight loss capacity has repeatedly shown the benefits of African mango extract and African mango diet.
Backing from the United Nations has enabled several studies to be performed to boost the commercial use of African mango extract. One study, performed at Yaounde University in Cameroon, found that overweight participants who took irvingia gabonensis extract twice a day for 10 weeks showed significant weight loss compared to a control group that showed little change.
