Centella asiatica is a creeping herb. Born in the wetlands, the village, roadside, ditch side. Stem, ground on the root. Leaves alternate, petiole long; leaf blade rounded or reniform, diameter 2 to 4 cm. Summer flowering; umbellate head, 2 to 3 born in leaf axils, each inflorescence with 3 to 6 sessile flowers; red flowers purple. Fruit small, flat round. The extract of Centella asiatica is derived from the dry whole grass of Centella asiatica(L.) Urban or the whole grass with root, and the extracted triterpenoid saponins.
