Lemon Balm is reported to be native to Europe, but are now found all over the world. It grows not only in herbs, but also in polish manufacturing crops for medicine, cosmetics and furniture. The plant grows to a height of 70 150 cm. The leaves have a mild lemon aroma associated with mint. In summer, the white flowers are full of nectar. These bees attract bees, hence the name "Melissa" (Greek for "bee"). Its flavor comes from citronella, citronella, aryl acetate and geraniene. The leaves are very dark in color, ranging from dark green to yellowish-green, depending on the soil and climate. Crushed leaves are used as an insect repellent when rubbed against the skin. Lemon balm is made from the leaves of the plant. Essential oils made from lemon oil contain phytochemicals called terpenes, which play at least a part in the herbs' relaxing and antiviral effects. Lemon oil is popular in aromatherapy. Lemon oil also contains Rosmar acid, a major compound responsible for GABA's transaminase inhibitory activity. It has the functions of calming mind, helping sleep, protecting skin, improving alertness, improving memory, resisting oxidation, protecting liver, controlling blood sugar and nourishing brain.
