Horsetail Extract Introduction
Horsetail is a perennial herb. The rhizomes are creeping roots with color as brown. It is a kind of herbal medicine with a very long history of use. Traditionally it is used to stop bleeding, treat ulcers and trauma, and treat tuberculosis and kidney disease. The stem contains a lot of organic silicon and silicic acid which help repair fractures and form collagen which is an important protein in connective tissue, skin, bones, cartilage and ligaments. The chemical substances in Horsetail Extract may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Application:
1. Diuresis and kidney problems
Wenjing's most famous usage is as a mild diuretic ("drainage medicine") to increase urination and reduce edema, and as a treatment for a variety of bladder and kidney problems (including kidney stones and bladder infections).
2. Osteoporosis
Silicon, an essential element of this type, is contained in extremely high levels. Silicon is an element necessary for the body to use calcium properly. Many people diagnosed with calcium deficiency are not actually lacking in calcium. They actually lack silicon in their daily diet, so calcium is not properly utilized by the body and forms a deposit. Therefore, some experts have proposed that silicon is an essential component for bone and cartilage formation. This points out that Qinjing may be effective in preventing osteoporosis.
3. Arthritis and Arteriosclerosis
The high content of silicon in Jingjing may help explain its use in the treatment of arthritis and arteriosclerosis, because joints and arterial tissues contain large amounts of silicon.
4. Brittle nails
Jing Jing may be used in the treatment of brittle nails. This may be due to the high content of silicic acid and silicate in Jingjing, which can supply about 2 to 3% of elemental silicon.
