Haematococcus pluvialis is a freshwater species with high content of the strong antioxidant astaxanthin, Haematococcus Pluvialis Algae Extract Astaxanthin is important both in nutritional supplements and cosmetics. Astaxanthin has shown antioxidant activity that is more than 10 times stronger than beta-carotene, and close to 1000 times more effective than vitamin E. Astaxanthin protects the skin and eyes against radiation, prevents cardiovascular aging, Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Astaxanthin can eliminate the free radical of the cell, enhance their regeneration capacity and reduce senescent cell accumulation.
