Coptis Chinensis Extract Introduction:

Coptis Chinensis is a species of a flowering plant used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). It is one of the 50 fundamental herbs of TCM. Widely sold as dietary supplements, extracts, dried whole leaves and roots, Coptis chinensis extract is often used to treat gastrointestinal disorders and other medical conditions.

Coptis chinensis contains several compounds thought to enhance health. The active ingredient of Coptis chinensis is berberine, which has anti-pathogenic microorganisms and antibacterial effects, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus hemolyticus, Pneumococcus, Meningococcus, Shigella, Bacillus anthracis, etc. In terms of antiviral effect, it can inhibit influenza virus, hepatitis B virus and so on. Antiprotozoal effect, in vitro inhibition of Amoeba, Trichomonas vaginalis, Trypanosoma, and a variety of experimental inflammations. The anti-inflammatory mechanism is related to stimulating the release of corticosteroids. It also inhibits platelet aggregation.
